FAQ

When and for whom is it mandatory to wear an approved helmet?

The use of a protective helmet compliant with the requirements for Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, Telemark Skiing, Sledding, and Luge is mandatory for everyone, regardless of age (see Law no. 119 of 8 August 2025, “Urgent provisions for the organization and holding of major sporting events, as well as further urgent provisions relating to sport”).

Is third-party liability insurance (RCT) mandatory for accessing the ski slopes?

Yes, it is mandatory, and this obligation can be fulfilled at Cervino S.p.A. by purchasing the Snowcare policy. Although the Snowcare policy also includes a comprehensive insurance package for skiers, protecting them in the event of an accident/injury while skiing or snowboarding, I still recommend purchasing personal accident insurance.

Where is the meeting point with Maestro Ale for the start of lessons?

Generally, unless otherwise agreed with the instructor, the meeting point is in Cervinia town, in the Cretaz area, between the departure points of the two chairlifts and the practice slope equipped with a magic carpet. For lessons in Valtournenche or other locations, the meeting point will be determined in advance upon confirmation of the booking request.

Do I need to rent equipment or buy a ski pass BEFORE the lesson starts?

Yes, of course. You must arrive at the meeting point at the scheduled time for the lesson, equipped with a ski pass, all the necessary technical equipment, and appropriate mountain clothing (remember, weather conditions can change rapidly!). Regarding equipment rental, please don’t hesitate to ask me for advice, technical support, or the best rental locations. Regarding ski passes, there are various types of tickets, and I can advise you in advance on which one best suits your needs. Access to the moving walkway at the ski school slope is free!

What is the maximum number of students that can participate in a private group lesson?

At most 8 and generally with the same technical level.

How many consecutive hours of lessons is best for learning purposes?

To optimize both teaching and learning, at least two hours of consecutive lessons are necessary. They are highly recommended for beginners or private group lessons. This doesn’t mean you can’t get a good result in a one-hour lesson, but only for targeted improvement and within the obvious time constraints.
